some really bad album covers

One of the things I miss about record albums over CD's is the cover art......

Oh sure, the sound quality was usually awful,

-- even with a super high fidelity turntable,

--- and your girlfriend would always scratch em up as her first recourse at revenge, for any and all perceived wrongdoings on your part.....

But you always had something to read while you were listening to the album.

It was sorta like a cereal box without the sugary breakfast crunch.

These new fangled CD's don't feature art large enough to even read......

I feel left out in the lurch, somehow.

  
 Ahh..... the good ole days, huh?

 These next album covers, however, do not quite qualify for any kinda awards.......

 Unless you're talking about awards for BAD design.... BAD concept, .....

 .......................................... just plain BAD. 

 How's that for taste.... a chick singer with a dildo sitting on the toilet.

 Talk about an artist's conception. 

 And I bet the music is just as ..... ummm..... well......  scatological?

Just another sad case of some preachers who can't keep their hands to themselves.....

Just how touching is this next theme.

 ah well, you're never too young to discover the joys of cigarettes, sex and beer, huh?



 Well, it ain't always so easy to find love, ya know.

Take these girls, for instance.

 Dates are just getting harder and harder to come by, huh, girls?

 Maybe if they traded in those hairdresser outfits ... I dunno.



Some album conceptions just wanna make ya yell
 "Beam Me Up, Scotty!!!"

Oh boy.... I'm not questioning the talent of those guys...

Just how acting talent magically transforms into musical talent....
 .... Ok, that's the question.


Maybe it's just how it's gonna be.

Make all the money you can on every manipulative, crappy trash you can produce.

Yep.

That sounds about right.

The next thing you hear after playing that one, will be entitled -

"Carolina Muscle Just Vomits"



Well, at least Christmas music is immune from all that stuff, right??

 
Gospel music,
-- because of the traditionally low budgets for their production,
----has been a frequent offender of the album-art afficienado's sensibilities....

Don't get me wrong.

I think it's just groovy that you can sew your own outfits for your album cover.

That's a skill set that might prove very useful when your album tanks.

um hmmm.

ahh... but don't be fooled.

Popular music has always been rife with badly conceived and executed cover art.

.... There's no doubt that it's ugly.....

There's no doubt they'll be broke....

But I have serious doubts that anyone involved in the production of that album was sober.

I can't tell you how hard it was to pick these over some of the other really horrible ones out there, though.

Some of them have a kind of quaint charm, after all.

 
Ok.... I'll grant ya that a midget hauling a harp off a city bus isn't all that charmin...

But how about ......

Jeeez....

There's just no pleezin you, is there?


Well, I'm about wrung out from all these bad covers...

They really take a toll on ya, you know?
